Embracing the Whole Person for True Wellness

I believe that psychiatry at heart focuses on understanding the individual as a whole to help work through complexes that have developed over the years of trauma, unstable ego, abandonment and a series of injuries.

The use of medications are second line and used to “grease the wheel” as I like to say, to help facilitate the depth and effectiveness of therapy, coaching, while decreasing your symptoms and overall impairments.

I believe that wellness, happiness, harmony are a result of a wholesome way of living, stability of ego, decreased toxicity and staying true to one’s value.

In my practice, it is vital to minimize the burden of medications, especially when treating mood and bipolar disorders. Many forego medications due to poor experiences where the effects of medications caused changes in personality, temperament, sexual side effects, and creativity.

How I Can Help

I address the harmful ripple effects of trauma, helping individuals shed the victim mentality so they can feel in control of the direction they want to go. This empowerment comes from embracing who we are, including our shortcomings and insecurities, and eliminating thought processes that lead to feelings of shame.

I treat mood and bipolar disorders by minimizing the burden of medications on creativity and, temperament while preserving the overall sense of self.

I also have a special interest in treating the immigrant population who are stuck in survival mindsets, struggling with negative thought patterns, identity issues, and confidence, while also keeping friends, loved ones, and colleagues at arm’s length.

I treat addiction disorders, understanding the need to escape and numb out, where one feels that their life is dictated by their addiction leading to guilt and shame, mood and anxiety disorders, sabotaging relationships, and isolating oneself from loved ones.
